Fall is Here!

Exfoliation

Fall is finally here! That means cozy sweaters, cooler weather, and unfortunately, drier skin.

So it’s time to adapt your skincare routine to the changing season.

Does your skin start to feel dry and tight in the Fall and Winter? You may not be moisturizing often enough, or you may be using the wrong type of moisturizer for your skin type.

If your skin tends to dry out easily, then you want to upgrade to more hydrating skincare products. Look for ingredients like ceramides and glycerin for the best results.

BONUS TIP 1

Pat your skin dry with a towel instead of rubbing it. This prevents excessive exfoliation and helps your skin retain moisture. Keep your moisturizer in the shower and use it while your skin is still moist.

BONUS TIP 2

When Winter comes I also love to apply a tiny amount of grape seed oil after my body moisturizer to lock in hydration.

And, always, no matter the Season…

  • DRINK PLENTY OF WATER

  • DON’T FORGET YOUR SPF!

These are some products I like:

It’s Clear: Nutrition Plays a Role in Healthy Skin

We know that our body is a system and everything is connected which means that what we eat can certainly affect what is happening with our skin.

I rely on my nutritionist and friend Katie to stay on track of a healthier diet, and today I invited her for a little chat.

Katie is a known nutritionist and health expert that believes that optimal performance and health is driven through the foods you eat. She also believes that if you understand nutrition then you'll better know how to apply it for the long term.

Rosie: Katie, does good nutrition affect your mood and self esteem?

Katie: There’s the infamous saying - “You are what you eat”, and it’s so true! Quality nutrition provides your brain with the chemical capacity of feeling your best mentally and physically. If you fuel your body with the nutrients it needs, wants, and requires then your body will thank you in every way! These nutrients include a balance of quality proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, and water.

Rosie: How to stay healthy during the holidays?

Katie: Eating clean during the holidays is easier than it may sound. If you’re looking to stay on track during the holidays but unsure of how to do so, here are 10 strategies to get you through the holidays!

Katie focuses on sports nutrition, healthy weight loss, gut health, weight management, wellness, meal planning and delivers the ingredients you need in order to sustain a happy and healthy lifestyle. She offers nutrition and wellness counseling to individuals in person, online and on-site with corporations. She also hosts many public speaking seminars in the local area - stay tuned, she is one of the speakers on our upcoming Wellness Event!
