Happy New Year!

Rosie Petrillo

2020 is finally ending.

Despite of all challenges, lockdowns, masks and social distancing, this year was full of beautiful moments:

I spent more time with my family. Friends became closer, even if via Facetime.

I received so much support from my wonderful clients and I met many new ones.

I feel even more fulfilled by my work and prospered on the fact that when you take care of yourself, you are in better shape to help others.

So I finish this year with a heart filled with gratitude and appreciation for all the amazing people I have in my life.

Thank you for trusting in my work and for uplifting my soul.

To all - love, light, health & happiness!

How to take care of your skin during Winter?

Rosie Petrillo

Winter weather can affect all skin types!!

That’s why being mindful of how you’re treating your skin and adapting your skincare routine are two essential ways to help ease the skin discomforts that often come with the season.

Here are a few tips to help fight that dry and itchy skin brought on by Winter:

1. Avoid hot showers.

Hot water strips the skin of natural moisture that keeps it healthy, hydrated and protected. Take a short, lukewarm shower instead to avoid irritating the skin. With your skin still moist, make sure to use a moisturizer that contain ceramides to maintain hydration and fight dryness.

2. Don’t neglect your feet!

Do not neglect your feet

Make sure you use a feet repair lotion and immediately slip on socks to help it soak in.

3. Take supplements with omega 3, 6, and 9.

A lot of people don’t realize the importance of these to ensure skin health, but there is significant evidence that omegas can even improve eczema. Their role is to maintain a healthy cell membrane, which is what allows a cell to hold water. This healthy barrier will support softer more supple skin.

4. Hydration is the key!!

Make sure to use a milky hydrating cleanser. Always use a toner with humectants and without alcohol. Only exfoliate 2 nights a week if you have oily skin - if you have dry skin, once a week is good enough. Look for antioxidant serums. Your skin needs help fighting those free radicals now more than ever. You need a heavier moisturizer, look for the ones that contain ceramides to help restore the water loss that winter causes. Lastly, seal in hydration and give your skin an extra layer of protection, applying a few drops of rosehip or marula oil.
