Hello 2022!! Hope you guys had an amazing holiday season and are excited for a brand new year!

Every year the cycle begins again. Wanting to better ourselves, we make all sorts of resolutions...or is it intentions? Plans? Goals?

You can call them intentions, goals, plans, resolutions, whatever you wish but they all have one point: Making your life better.

I am all about that. Personal growth is my thing! Let your resolutions come from a place that nourishes you.

We can all do better in our lives, we can all improve and it doesn’t have to mean that right now we aren’t good enough.

Wanting to improve upon yourself or your life – there’s nothing wrong with it, especially if it comes from a positive and loving mindset.

Start by creating nourishing routines.

One of the reasons that self-care New Year’s Resolutions fail is because it’s something that you force yourself to do. It’s not a gentle transition but an abrupt addition to your routine.

You have a greater chance of success when you gently add those new goals to your life instead of forcing them to fit.

Add More _______.

(or less!) This year, instead of declaring that I was going to exercise 4x a week, I just decided to commit to exercising more than I do right now and gradually increase that throughout the year.

We want to create sustainable change in our lives!

Also, add more of whatever makes you happy.

That’s always one of my goals. More of something I love. More of something that makes me happy. Drink more tea, take more walks, write more pretty things, create more art, spend more time with friends, spend more time alone, read more books, dance more often, more more more.

Challenge yourself to do more of the things that you already do that make you happy. Your only real goal is to do just a bit more than you did last year, or last month, or yesterday.

Take those things that you already do, that you already love, and make more space for them.

Amp up the Self-Care.

Now is the perfect time to start creating a self-care routine that makes you feel good. Self-care doesn’t have to be anything extravagant, despite what you may think. It’s the little things that add up to creating an amazing life:

  • Take a break when you need it instead of pushing through into exhaustion.

  • Go to bed a bit earlier so you can get a more restful sleep.

  • Read more nourishing things.

  • Stay away from the people that drain you and fill you with negativity.

  • Seek healing, really good, deep in your soul stuff.

Now, who doesn’t want to have smoother, clearer, more youthful-looking skin this year?

Make sure you save some room on your list of goals for this year, and let me help you achieve better skin naturally. If you integrate these into your routine, your skin will be more radiant than you can imagine, come next Winter (and probably before then).

10 New Year’s Resolutions for Healthy Skin

1. Wash your face before working out. Remember, cleansing is a crucial, non-negotiable step in any skin care routine. Washing beforehand helps to avoid post-workout pimples. All that sweating mixes with makeup, can clog your pores.

2. Avoid touching your face. Your fingers can transfer dirt to your pores, and voila, breakouts!

3. Change your pillowcases regularly. Skin oils and impurities collect on pillowcases, where they can redeposit onto your skin.

4. Cut back on dairy, sugar, alcohol, and red meat. You know well that all these can increase the risk of clogged pores. Greasy, fast-food choices are out!

5. Drink more water. Is there any better way to flush and hydrate? Try adding fruit to your water. Raspberry, strawberry, or blueberry-flavored water will definitely help you hydrate from the inside out.

6. Add more plants to your home and work area. Did you know they help cut down on pollutants that can contaminate your skin?

7. Add one stress-relieving activity to each day. Exercise, meditation, yoga, spending time with a good friend or a pet, walks in nature, and other relaxing activities should be on our daily agenda!

8. Eat more skin healthy foods. Add more green tea, flaxseed, walnuts, probiotics, omega 3 and lots of fruits and vegetables to your meals this year.

9. Don't just moisturize — hydrate. They're two different things! In addition to helping your skin lock in moisture, try adding a hydrating serum like hyaluronic acid or aloe-vera based serum.

10. Protect. Sunscreen must be #1 on your list for daily use! Go an extra mile to protect your skin, particularly from harsh weather. Hats and scarves are my new favorite accessories.
